Data stored on your device

To provide its service, the app stores the following data locally on your device. It is created by you, processed entirely on the device, and is not accessible to the Owner.

Pets

The name, type of animal, size (for dogs), birthday, and gotcha day you enter for each pet.

Photos

Any photos you choose as backgrounds are copied into the app's private storage, which is shared only with the app's own home screen widgets. The app has no access to the rest of your photo library.

Preferences

Your chosen background and its positioning, which countdown units you display, your reminder time, and your app icon colour.

App state

Whether onboarding has been completed and a count of how many times the app has been opened, used to decide when to show Apple's rating prompt and, in the free version, when to show an advertisement.

Advertising (free version only)

The free version of the app displays interstitial advertisements served by Google AdMob, a service of Google LLC. To serve and measure ads, AdMob may collect information such as your device's advertising identifier, IP address, device type and settings, and general location derived from your IP address. This collection is governed by Google's Privacy Policy and how Google uses information from sites or apps that use its services.

On first use the app asks, through Apple's standard App Tracking Transparency prompt, whether you allow tracking across other companies' apps and websites. If you decline, ads are still shown but are not personalised using cross-app tracking. You can change this choice at any time in iOS Settings under Privacy & Security, then Tracking.

Purchasing Premium removes all advertising from the app, and the AdMob SDK is not used to serve ads thereafter.

Purchases

The Premium unlock is a one-time in-app purchase processed entirely by Apple through the App Store. The Owner receives no payment details and no personal information about you from the transaction.

Third-party services

Apart from Google AdMob as described above, the app uses no analytics services, no crash reporting services, no social network software, and no other third-party software development kit that collects data.

Device features you may choose to use

The following features are provided by Apple's iOS and operate under Apple's own privacy policy. Each is optional and only used when you initiate it.

Notifications

Reminders about upcoming birthdays and gotcha days are scheduled locally on the device using iOS local notifications. No notification content ever leaves the device. iOS asks for your permission before the first reminder is scheduled.

Photos

When you choose photos, Apple's photo picker runs outside the app. Only the images you select are copied into the app's private storage.

Home screen widgets

The widgets read the same on-device pet data and photos so they can show your countdown.

Sharing

When you share a card or text, Apple's share sheet handles the content; the app does not upload anything itself.

App Store rating prompt

The app may occasionally ask iOS to show Apple's standard rating dialog. Any rating or review is handled by Apple and is not received by the Owner.

Device backups

Like most apps, the app's data may be included in the iCloud or computer backups you have configured in iOS. Those backups are controlled by Apple and by your device settings.

Children

The app is not directed at children under 13 and does not knowingly collect personal information from them.

Your choices

You can delete any pet or photo from within the app at any time, and deleting the app removes all of its data from your device. You can withdraw notification and tracking permissions in iOS Settings.

Changes to this policy

The Owner may update this policy from time to time. Changes will be posted at this address with an updated date.
